I
remember the first time I heard a song on the radio and realizing that I really loved that sound. The music, the voice, everything...it
was then I guess, that music was something I enjoyed and appreciated. It was the song "Touch Me" by The Doors. Not
that I understood what the song was about, or what genre, or even who it was...I must have been about five or six years old.
The moment is burned in my mind.
I would try to get my hands on just about any song I could...my first single record
that I bought with my own money was the song "Sad Eyes", my first concert was the James Brown Payback tour...he
wore a black jumpsuit that said "sex machine", my first 8 track experience was by the Commodores, my first album
was by R.E.M., my first cassette was Mass Production, my first CDs were given to me as a gift, my first downloaded song was
by Prince...everyone and everything has made this musical artist create the sounds, the words, the musical, lyrical compositions
that now flow through me.
Today brings it all together in music inspired by the early jazz and blues pioneers,
50s -60s-70s rock, folk, 70s punk, disco, early Sugar Hill Gang Hip-Hop to Rap, freestyle, the spoken word, metal, 80s-90s
tech, 90s grundge, and my 00s. Here I introduce tracks that bring a new sound. A sound that will incorporate all instruments,
and new ones created through the technology of binary code.
Enjoy...The New Sound...a new way to experience a tradition
of song and harmony...peace, Ruiz.
